Pixels Ink create a logo design with Flavour
We were approached by Natalie Ninnis to create a new logo and branding for her new venture, a sandwich shop which she was to open in Glasgow. Her aim was to provide high quality food that was healthy and used only the highest quality ingredients.
Natalie wanted a logo that was crisp and clean and reflected her shops main USP – healthy food.
After exploring a few ideas Natalie took the options she liked to some friends, colleagues and customers to get feedback and to see if any of the designs was a clear front runner, of which there was one.
After a few minor tweaks to the logo design we then worked on the final colour palette until Natalie was completely happy. The completed logo can be seen below.

Client testimonial from Natalie:
Pixels Ink provided a very prompt and efficient service and made the effort to find out exactly what I was looking for. The result was that I received a logo that I am very happy with and which gives a perfect expression of the brand I am trying to establish. I have had numerous compliments on the logo and several enquiries about who created it.

Not everyone wants a logo that is complex and graphical. Some clients will want a logo that looks simple, is easy to read and gets across the name of their business / brand at a glance but is still professionally designed.
Just because a logo is font based does not necessarily make it cheaper than say, a logo which is an icon or complex shape. Just as much thought needs to go into these logos in order to achieve a successful brand message.
It is important that your designer has a good understanding of typography, and and knows how various font faces can communicate different messages. Fonts , like colours can have a positive or negative effect on the viewer. A good example of this would be to tell your designer that you would like to use Comic Sans for your logotype – Just look at the fear in their eyes as the name of said font approches their ears….
Below are some examples of font based logo designs by Pixels Ink
